STREAM DEFINITIONS

Community Theatre Stream: A production (play or musical or musical revue) staged by a community theatre group.

School, Colleges Stream: A production (play or musical or musical revue) staged by a school or college.

Youth Stream: A production (play or musical or musical revue) staged by an acting school or a community theatre group with a major part of the cast being under 18 years, or where the target market is children - i.e. a pantomime or children's show).

(Participants are required to indicate which of the streams each production is eligible for on their Registration Forms.)

The judges' aim in the allocation of categories is to wherever possible, have performers under 18 years judged against other performers under 18 years, and for adults to be judged against other adults - in many cases, schools and colleges do not have the personnel experience, resources and budgets which established community theatre groups have. Judges have therefore re-defined the Awards to reflect the differences between the three Streams.
